I have been an eyeglass or contact lens wearer since I was 12 years old. Over the years I have went to 4 different eye care practitioners. The first one I went to - I loved right away (great attitude/bedside manner), but found that he sped through the exam and left me wondering if I had gotten the right prescription or not. As the years progressed, I finally found one that I liked who took the time I needed to find the right prescription, frame and lens. But I am sure there are others out there that don't know how to ask the right questions to be taken care of when they go for their eye exam.
Zeiss Educational Tools is a great place to start to learn what you need to know to get the best eye care possible. From simple items like the difference between an Optometrist and an Ophthalmologist to the complicated issues of vision problems that come with age - Zeiss has included great information in an easy to read format.
I wish this company had been around with more information when I was a teenager floundering with my first pair of glasses and first set of contact lenses. Check out Zeiss before your next visit to an eye care practitioner for more information and tools to assist in choosing the right doctor as well as the right lenses for you.
